The Porsche Cayenne is my winner hands down in the super luxury high performance SUV market. You can trust me too, just because I own an old vintage Porsche 911 doesn’t make me biased! No one makes a better performing or lasting transmission/driveline than Porsche, plain and simple. GotTransmissions.com has Rebuilt Porsche Cayenne Transmissions for sale, remanufactured with the precision all Porsche owners demand.
Porsche kept it simple. From 2002 to 2010, the first generation of Cayenne, all that was offered was a 6 speed manual transmission, or a 6 speed automatic transmission. Using the Direct-Injection 4.8L V8 found in the Cayenne S, it will propel you from 0 to 60 mph in less than 6 seconds. Fans of manual transmission can also rejoice. For the first time in the Cayenne, you can choose a six-speed manual instead of the standard Tiptronic tranny. It’s not the same Tiptronic as in the Tiguan.
The second generation Cayenne has only one transmission available, an eight [8] speed Aisin Tiptronic S automatic transmission. The eight-speed transmission is quicker and more refined than nearly anything else out of Germany or Japan, is what I hear. More on Aisin.
It’s hard to put into words how a Tiptronic s works, it’s more fun to drive one and see. The real difference maker is the computer that tells the transmission what to do. It’s unimaginable that over 250 different shifting programs are installed in the computer from the factory. Consider this, the VW Touraeg has only about 50 programs in it’s computer.
I do not know of a more high tech car on the road. It literally adapts in real time to your driving conditions and habits constantly, in order to provide the optimum shift for any situation, right now. There are sensors all over the car chassis and engine that send signals to the computer, which in turn commands the exact right shift.
So, should you have a transmission failure in any newer Porsche with the Tiptronic transmission, it needs to be diagnosed by a professional before any repair work is done.
You definitely want to make sure you solve the reason your transmission failed.
Once you know why it failed, it’s time to call GotTransmissions.com and speak to an informed customer service adviser about how to choose which transmission which is in your best interests.
