Question: I am the owner of a 1996 Ford Mustang GT. My mother is the owner of a 1997 Mercury Grand Marquis, and my Grandfather is the owner of a 1997 Mercury Grand Marquis. Within the last five months all three of us had to have our 4.6 liter V8 transmissions rebuilt due to a fault in the design of the Torque Converter which made the transmission lock up on occasion and create a shudder when changing gears.

Luckily, the Grand Marquis owned by my mother and grandfather were still under warranty and the Ford dealership rebuilt the transmission at no charge to them, knowing that this is a common problem with Ford vechicles before 1999.

My Ford Mustang just happened to be past its warranty period and I had to take my car to a transmission specialist to have it rebuilt. I took my car to AAMCO Transmissions in Ft. Lauderdale and they diagnosed the problem as the same one the Grand Marquis has and all other Ford vechicles have. My total repair bill consists of $1,400.00 which I had to pay.

After repairing my vechicle I checked on the internet to see if this is a noted problem with Ford cars and trucks. All transmission problems point to this Toque converter problem and suggest rebuilding it. AAMCO mentioned that they get Ford vechicles day in and day out for this problem and they have records from Ford mentioning this problem.

To me this is a very serious matter that needs to be brought up because no person should have to pay and change a transmission just because of a bad design from Ford. I love Ford cars and I stand behind Ford 100% but if this problem cannot be rectified my feeling of trust in Ford will be lost.

Possibilities: If the torque converter is bad, it should not cause the entire transmission to be rebuilt. If a converter goes bad due to an internal defect, then you just change the converter. If the problem is a control problem in the valve body then you address that too … you do not need to r&r the whole unit unless you have been driving on it a long time and caused internal damage.

Ford probably just did a crate swap and did it under the warranty. Most transmissions go bad because of heat. Do you have a transmission cooler on your vehicles? If not, I strongly recommend one be installed by a professional to survive the heat down in Florida.

I have had very few failures occur with this unit after a proper rebuild. Installing the correct updates is the critical indredient in the recipe od rebuilding a transmission, especially this one. Plenty of research has been put into this unit by skilled transmission rebuilders and research and development transmission companies, because of its reliability, fluid (synthetic only), filter and service is the only thing I recommend for my customers at 20k intervals.

Our customers are valuable to us, that is why we outperform the competition, including dealerships and the other transmission supply companies. We offer peace of mind in every Rebuilt Ford Transmissions for sale. Our warranty proves it. Ask our experience transmission experts about our nationwide parts and labor guarantee. Transmissions for Sale: Mitsubishi Transmissions Overstock Sale.

“Where Our Customers Send Their Friends”

Question: My 5-speed Mitsubishi transmission went out with only 96,000 miles on the car. Also, the head gasket and oil sending units were leaking oil very badly. These repairs cost me a total of $1300. This is the first and last Mitsubishi I will ever own. Paid out $1300 for repairs on a car that is not even paid off yet. Are Mitsubishi transmissions good transmissions or is this my fault?

Possibilities: To be truthful, without actually knowing what parts were replaced and the labor involved, you got a good price. It has been my experience that a manual transmission, since you have indicated you have a 5 speed stick shift, that fails at 96,000 miles for only a few reasons. Manufacturing defects in parts or labor are out at that type of mileage. Those problems show up much earlier in the cars life.

After saying that, the two main reasons a manual transmission fails are:

#1. Lack of maintenance. Manual transmissions need regularly scheduled maintenance, as suggested in the owners manual. It is important to note that using the factory lubricant, purchased from the dealer is essential. Nothing else works as well. Don’t be talked into some other lubrication. Trust me.

#2. Abuse. Abuse can be from driving it too hard. Like laying patches of rubber on takeoff, hard acceleration all the time, a 16 year old son, or even water in your transmission. Abuse in my opinion is also lack of maintenance!! Basically, your transmission is the forgotten part, until it fails. Another form of abuse is a leak. If you don’t look for leaks, than regular service is crucial, since the transmission fluid level is checked anytime your engine oil is changed. Just make sure you ask them to look for a leak and refill it when the service is performed. If you let the fluid leak out, expect a transmission failure.

To insure your success when it comes down to purchasing one of our transmissions for sale, call GotTransmissions.com and discuss your problems with one of our courteous transmission experts. We have plenty of time to hear you out and provide a solution that suits your best interest. Don’t forget to ask about our exclusive parts and labor guarantee.

Automotive Transmissions: Transmission Recalls

Auto manufacturers don’t like to conduct recalls. They are very expensive and don’t exactly do wonders for marketing efforts. Most problems never get to the recall stage; that doesn’t mean they’re not problems, it just means the manufacturer has managed to wriggle out of conducting a full-scale recall. Much more common are “secret” warranties and technical service bulletins. Also, newer vehicles with persistent problems may be covered by the Lemon Law in your state.

Few car owners know that “secret warranties” exist. Automakers are reluctant to make them public for fear it would dampen confidence in their product and increase their legal liability. Most motorists who get compensated for repairs to blown engines, burned-up auto transmissions or paint that has turned chalky white or peeled away, are the ones who read consumer news sites, yell the loudest and refuse to take no for an answer. The squeaky wheel gets the grease!!

The 4-Step Process in Secret Warranties:

1. Service advisories are posted on an automaker’s internal computer network. They offer troubleshooting tips and allow the dealer to bill the manufacturer for the repair. This information is never divulged to the customer.

2. If the defect grows in magnitude into a more involved solution requiring upgraded parts, automakers then draw up a formal technical service bulletin (called a TSB or DSB) and distribute the bulletin to dealers and US and Canada. The service bulletin is only issued after the manufacturer has what it thinks is the solution for the defect. TSBs issued by Chrysler, Ford, and GM will usually spell out clearly which base warranty will cover the repair (emissions warranty, bumper-to-bumper, etc.). Interestingly, Asian and European automakers are vague in their description of their warranty obligations. Honda, for example, uses the term “goodwill” as a euphemism to describe its warranty extensions.

3. As more and more customers hear about TSBs for a common factory-related defect, and find that the base warranty is clearly inadequate to deal with the scope of the problem, pressure on dealers builds. With customers pressing for after-warranty help, the dealers put pressure on the manufacturer. This can lead to a second TSB, sent only to dealers, extending the warranty coverage and leaving to the dealer’s discretion the amount that will be covered or refunded to the customer.

4. In some cases, the aggravation gets too great and the automaker decides to issue a press release followed by an owner notification letter (sent to first owners only, at their last known address) which clearly spells out what all owners will get and which vehicles are involved. A special bulletin or letter is also sent to dealers to ensure they follow the guidelines. Ford calls these Owner Notification Policies, GM calls them Special Policies, and Chrysler calls them Owner Satisfaction Notifications. No matter the euphemism, they are an extension of the original warranty, applied to vehicles that may have been bought new or used.

We offer this type of information because the above secret warranties exist. Remember if purchased a car second hand, you may never get the recall notice, event though you are entitled to it. GotTransmissions.com provides this information as a courtesy. If you need one of our transmissions Call us @ 866-320-1182.

Ford Transmissions: Minivan Transmission Problems

Ford Transmissions

Ford Transmissions

According to my sources, federal safety officials are investigating hundreds of complaints that 2004-05 Ford Freestar and Mercury Monterey minivans have defective transmissions that can cause the moving vehicles to stop suddenly.

As many as 205,000 vehicles could be affected, according to the NHTSA (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration) said today.

Investigators are focusing on the torque converter output shaft, NHTSA said on its Web site. The shaft, in the rear of the transmission, which eventually applies power to the front wheels.

NHTSA reported 654 customer complaints and 2,791 warranty claims related to the vehicles’ sudden inability to move on the road.

Clarence Ditlow, executive director of the nonprofit Center for Auto Safety, Said, “It’s a safety defect and should be recalled,”

The agency’s engineering analysis is to be completed in 12 months, according to NHTSA. (what a joke.)

Apparently Ford Motor Company’s spokesman did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

The Freestar and its Monterey brother debuted in late 2003 and were discontinued after the 2007 model year after sagging sales.

In one complaint to the Center for Auto Safety, a Delaware resident said her 2004 Freestar suddenly stopped three times — twice while on high-speed roadways trying to merge into traffic.

One of the complaints read “While the vehicle was moving, the rpms (revolutions per minute) would ramp up extremely high, but the vehicle would not move forward (felt as if all power, including steering, were gone).

This type of occurrence happens all the time to every manufacturer for every part of a car. And the manufacturers won’t speak about it or return calls. To me that is an admission of guilt. With that in mind, Ford research and development has developed a stronger shaft for replacement, and is in use currently. Why they don’t issue an immediate recall is beyond me. This is a big safety issue.

If you are one of the unfortunate folks caught with this malady and can’t get satisfaction, we can cure part of your pain immediately. You may choose to pursue the problem legally, however if you need to get back on the road ASAP, Call GotTransmissions.com @ 866-320-1182 now. We have Ford Transmissions with all the current updates available, including some updates Ford does not use or care about. Rebuilt Transmissions: Fully Tested, Certified and Affordable.

First off, I want to clarify the meaning of several terms often used in the process of buying transmissions. The terms: Remanufactured, refurbished, reconditioned, etc. are used by some of the other companies as a way to confuse people into thinking one term is a better product than the other. By law, to buy transmissions called remanufactured, rebuilt, refurbished and reconditioned transmissions should all turn out to be the same product. Don’t let the jargon and terminology confuse you.

With that being said, we need to talk about why we have outperformed the competition and became the most trusted name in the transmission industry. One of the most important parts of rebuilding a transmission is to make sure all of the latest updates and improvements are built right into the transmission. By and large, anything less is really a poor value since most transmissions have some areas that can be improved.

Our inventory of transmissions includes heavy duty transmissions for work vehicles or any car or truck that gets used harder than normal. The price difference between an updated transmission and one that is not, is a fraction of what it costs to do the complete rebuild. Some of our heavy duty transmissions come with auxiliary coolers included because we know that overheating that particular transmission is like the kiss of death.

We are so confident of our transmissions that we offer a price match guarantee on any transmission you locate elsewhere of equal value and quality. Another confidence building feature we offer is an exclusive nationwide parts and labor warranty. Make sure you ask when you call.

Simply put, GotTransmissions.com is the leading transmission supplier in the continental US. Call one of our representatives and ask the tough questions you have. We will provide educational answers while taking as much time as you need to understand which one of our transmissions is in your best interests. Call now @866-320-1182

Used Ford Transmissions For sale: Price Match Guarantee.

Not long ago one of my friends gave me a call. Actually it sorta scared me when the call came in at 10:30 pm. Late calls usually are bad news. Sure enough it was bad news, but his bad news, not mine. Apparently he felt he just had a transmission problem and his car was stuck on the side of a smaller road in the middle of a road with little civilization for many miles. My advise, especially if he was going to be looking to buy one of the used transmissions on the market to replace his bad transmission, get it towed home first.

Fortunately he has AAA auto tow insurance, so at least he did not have a 300.00 dollar tow bill. The next day I cruised over and confirmed the transmission was shot and needed to be replaced. “What do I do now”, he asked me? The first thing is to call a quality transmission supply company and find a low mileage good used transmission. Then call your favorite mechanic and see if he will exchange the two transmissions.

Used Ford Transmissions For Sale

Used Ford Transmissions For Sale

I explained that the most important issues were to buy your used transmission from a reputable supplier, make sure it is a low mile unit. Without being disrespectful, I explained that local “junk yards” do not have the buying power to locate and sell the best low mileage used transmissions. Junk yard transmissions usually come with a 30 day guarantee. Not much confidence in a unit with a 30 day warranty. The most impressive companies have access to a network of the best low mileage pretested used transmissions with the best warranties. In fact most of them have less than 40,000 miles on them.

The other things I told him was this:

#1. GotTransmissions.com has a guaranteed price match if you find an used transmission with equal mileage and value from another company. We won’t compete or match prices with companies who sell old high mileage used transmissions that don’t have much life left in them.

#2. You also have the option of buying an affordable labor guarantee. What this means is that if you did experience a problem with your used transmission.  We would ship another transmission out ASAP, and the labor is covered. This is a nationwide warranty too.

With this in mind, my friend did as I suggested. He called GotTransmissions.com @ 866-320-1182. Was very impressed with the service, especially the time his sales representative took to explain everything in terms he understood. He bought one of the lowest mileage used transmissions, which was delivered to his mechanics door ASAP. Once he received his vehicle back, he said the process was relatively painless, therefore serving a big issue, the pain involved in locating a good source for a used transmission and feeling peace of mind and confident that he made a good decision. He did buy the labor warranty too, BTW.

Quality Used Transmissions For Sale: Price Match Guarantee

Quality Used Transmissions For Sale

Quality Used Transmissions For Sale

Our specialty is selling transmissions. No body does it better than us. The first thing our customers mention about our company is that the transmission they bought far exceeds what we said it was. For instance if you buy one of our used transmissions, you will get one of our used transmissions with low mileage, sometimes extremely low and it is a quality unit because the transmission has gone through a rigid pre testing procedure to insure your success.

The simple facts are that we won’t sell you a “junk yard” transmission with 150,000 miles on it. Period. It is not a good value even if it is free. Why? Because it is going to fail real soon, probably just out of the short term warranty it has, which, obviously will cost you another transmission. That is a bad value. Our vision is to sell you a fine used transmission that has years and years of life.

Our prices are very competitive with the few other quality used transmission supply companies. With that in mind, we offer a price matching guarantee to anybody who locates a good used transmission of equal value and mileage to the one we are selling. We can’t compete with the hi mileage super low price “junk yard” transmissions. We won’t compete with them either. If you want ‘junk”, my suggestion is to go to a local supplier and buy one of their dirty old high mileage transmissions.

If you look around using any medium such as the Internet or phone book, it is much harder to find a superior transmission supplier who has the proper connections to procure the best used transmissions available, as opposed to the average “junk yard” who does not have the power or desire to find or sell the best units.

The bottom line is we know that you might spend less money on a junky old transmission, but we also know it is not what is in your best interests. Anyway, if the “junky” transmission is clean, how would you know what shape it is in anyway? We can prove the mileage and every detail about where our transmission comes from by using a CarFax report. We feel more comfortable selling you a transmission we can be sure will not cause you any undue pain in an already painful situation.

So, if you run any one of the quality, qualified used transmissions of equal quality to ours at a better price, take a few minutes to call us back and speak with our representatives again, if what you present us with is true, we will match that price, Guaranteed. GotTransmissions.com has been outperforming the competition by being creative and staying with the times. Money is tight and we aim to make sure you become our customer for life. Tough Economy puts Stress on Transmission Supply Company’s to Lower Prices..

Used Transmissions For Sale

Used Transmissions For Sale

Going through the process of toughing out a weak economy stresses out everyone. It stresses our customers and causes pain and aggravation in the process of coming up with some extra money for some sort of cheap, or, more appropriately, affordable used transmissions, if your engine fails.

What I’m getting at today is that the stress is then passed on to the transmission supply companies. Transmissions of any sort, manual or automatic, from used to rebuilt to remanufactured tranny’s. Many companies offer a less reliable product so they can lower prices and still make a profit. We don’t support those sort of business practices. We will continue to provide the finest transmissions to our customers even if we make a smaller profit.

Why? We want to stay in business and continue dominating the field of transmission replacement. Every business that wants to stay in business and still provide a quality product has to make certain adjustments during a recession or a depression, economically speaking.

The only was to get out of a recession is for everyone to cooperate in the process. Understanding this is not realistic based on some LARGE greedy companies with little or no morals or conscience who continue to take advantage of the customer for money that is in their best interests. We are participating in our way.

Simply put, we are only interested in continuing to sell the best transmissions in the US and other countries that need our services. After considering the situation and discussing it with our board members, we decided that lowering our prices to meet the economical recession was the best answer. All employees were in on the idea that making less money is part of the sacrifice we are making in order to help our priceless customers and hopefully help the economy recover.

The bottom line is that our products will remain the same. Quality and great customer service will still be the backbone of our operation, which is how we earned our reputation for outperforming the competition. Call GotTransmissions.com for free quote. Speak with a sales specialist who has plenty of time to educate you so you make the best decision for your particular interests. Call us for your all transmissions and replacement needs @ 866-320-1182.

Used Transmissions for Sale: Reliable, Affordable and Shipped ASAP.

There is a direct link between people putting off going to the doctor when they don’t feel well and people thinking that there transmissions will get better by itself instead of seeking professional help. Most of us know by know that denying a medical condition or a car transmissions problems, generally it leads to a more serious and complicated problem that cost more.

Seriously, if you had chest pains for weeks and weeks and kept denying that it may be a serious heart condition and not indigestion, there is a good chance of having a heart attack and complicating your life more, since a heart attack is considerably more serious than having your artery stented to avoid having a heart attack. Ignoring even the smallest suggestion from your car that you are suffering from a transmission problem generally leads to more pain, the ‘money out of pocket’ pain. It hurts just as bad as a heart attack, and takes you out of commission longer than if you just had it checked when it was barely an issue.

I’m not a medical doctor, but I know the best doctor in the world, my DAD. That and $4.50 (current Starbucks price) will get me a cup of coffee. the correlation between your body and preventive care is much like a car transmission and preventive care. As I mentioned earlier, got a problem? Stop and get it checked by a reputable source. ASAP.

Needless to say a transmission failure is not like you are gong to die,but if you ever have the opportunity to sit in on a person with a multi thousand dollar transmission problem, you  might think they were going to die. To be honest, most transmission conditions and heart conditions can be prevented pretty much by taking preventive measures.

In a humans case, eat better and exercise and take your meds if you have a prescription, in a cars case have your transmission maintained at the proper mileage or time frame, as the manufacturer suggests and use the proper transmission fluid, no substitutes, get the real deal from the dealer.

For the folks that are learning this late in life or the hard way ($$ out of pocket), then GotTransmissions.com is one of the most respected transmission supply companies in the USA. You need one of our good used transmissions, Call us @ 866-320-1182 and speak to knowledgeable representative who has the necessary amount of time to hear out your problem and then help you cure the pain with a transmission that is in your best interests.

Toyota Transmissions: Rav4 tranmsissions complaint…

I was just reading a report about 120 owners of Toyota’s 2001-2003 RAV4 that have filed complaints to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and the numbers are sure to increase. Owners are upset and frustrated that Toyota is reluctant to acknowledge a defect with the electronically controlled transmissions.

The reports are saying that the transmission control unit (TCU) may fail and send mixed signals to the transmission. Once the owner notices the defect due to rough or missed shifts, the TCU needs to immediately be serviced to avoid major transmission damage. Owners were not notified even after Toyota has internally confirmed the issue (a TSB was issued to dealers in March of 2006).

The owners are all the more upset due to costly repair bills to replace transmissions when all the cars needed was a simple electronic module. A NHTSA spokesman said that it is watching the issue “very closely.” Meanwhile, Toyota is studying the issue to determine whether to extend its warranty on the parts in question.

The main reason I’m discussing this particular complaint issue is to demonstrate why you absolutely have no time to waste when you have the tiniest notion you have a transmission problem. The important part is that a relatively small or seeming innocuous problem can turn into a really expensive problem if you don’t take immediate action.

In fact, sales of the Rav4 transmissions from 2001 to the 2003 models has been somewhat above average, which is why I’m also writing this post. Te transmissions are well made and have potential for many good miles of use when taken care of properly. The big problem is that lots of folks deny their is a transmission problem or simply drive the car until it qiuts moving.

At GotTransmissions.com, we have very complete inventory of used transmissions and Rav4 Toyota transmissions for sale. More important is that we have affordable good used Transmission Control Units for sale if you find that you need one. for any car.

Become an educated consumer by reading our blog for more useful information such as this. Call GotTransmissions.com @ 866-320-1182 and speak to a trained transmission specialist to help you out with your problem and provide a solution in terms you understand.
