Transmissins For Sale 866-320-1182

Transmissins For Sale 866-320-1182

You probably noticed we have transmissions for sale, or you would not be here. I get a lot of requests for price quotes on transmissions in the comment area after each post. I wish that information was available to me, my hands are full writing blogs. My job is to write on various subjects related to car and truck transmissions, standard and automatic. In fact I have total control on what I write about.

Here is something you can write me about, other than commenting is, is to ask me your transmission questions. You got a tranny question, or more precisely a problem, ask me, write it down with as many details as possible and I’ll get back to you.

My background in the automotive business is a long and fun one. Until February of 2006 I owned and operated a transmission repair shop in my hometown. It opened in 1981 and was always a small, quality and customer oriented shop. Because of the technological advancements to cars and trucks in the area of computerization, we, meaning the best transmission mechanics, had to become very literally, experts at fixing engine problems too.

The sacred agreement between engines and transmission and how they operate simultaneously, including the whole car in reality is due to computers, computers that operate nearly everything in and on your car. Receiving signals from every part of your car, commanding the computer to send their operational instructions, asap, to the transmission. When as little as one component in the system or a problem occurs, and a signal is interrupted or changed, the whole car can shut down or begin to operate poorly.

It is important that we sell transmissions, it is just as important that we don’t sell unnecessary transmissions or gearboxes. With that in mind, answering your questions may help lead you to a solution sooner.

Don’t forget that there is no substitute for having an experienced, seasoned professional with a trained eye, examine your transmission if you have any question about it. It certainly cost less to pay for a diagnosis that buy a replacement trans. unnecessarily, or, it would end up costing more to fix a highly worn transmission, only to have another serious failure soon thereafter. Obviously costing more than buying a good used replacement transmission in the first place.

Seek professional help. GotTransmissions.com is outperforming it’s competitors by selling the lowest mileage used engines, the finest rebuilt engines available and customer service that exceeds all expectations. Our money goes into the best product on the market, not a bunch of advertising. When you need to speak to a professional transmission expert, Call 866-320-1182 and get a free real time quote.

Automatic Transmissions Shift Solenoids Video.

My last post verbally described the way an automotive transmissions solenoids operate regarding how shift solenoids operate. Words often don’t make full sense of a verbal description. No matter how good your attempt is. Looking for something with visual interpretation, this YouTube video explains how an automotive solenoid works in general. Enjoy.

Solenoids are common all over your car for many other purposes. When you think of a computerized transmission, there can be as many as 11 solenoids on a Volkswagen valve body. You can see where having the best test equipment is necessary for the modern transmission rebuilder to be successful. Solenoid testing equipment is not cheap.

The best transmission company’s replace every solenoid in a rebuilt transmission, as to eliminate complicated problems from one simple condition located in a cluster of solenoids. Certainly, a rebuilt transmission should cost more if it is rebuilt properly. A cheap rebuilt transmission is a guaranteed recipe to end up spending lots more money in the long run, not to mention the pain, anger and frustration that comes along with an inferior product.

If you want to be the guy riding sown the road with a smile of satisfaction on his mugshot, Call GotTransmissions.com for any transmission questions or problems. That is 1-877-268-0884. Speak with a friendly and courteous representative, who has plenty of time to help you decide which replacement transmissions suits your best interests.

Automatic Transmission Components: Shift Control Solenoids

Automatic Transmissions

Automatic Transmissions

There are two shift control solenoids on most automatic transmissions. They are identified as “Shift Solenoid A” and “Shift Solenoid B”. An automatic transmission or transaxle produces their different gears by applying hydraulic pressure to, or releasing hydraulic pressure from, the internal mechanisms that holds said gear set engaged. Hydraulic pressure is also used to apply, or release, the internal clutches for the gear sets which allows for the shifts between gears.

The solenoids are electrically applied to block the pressure in the said passage ways and un-apply, in order to open the line for pressure to pass. Depending on which solenoids are enegized (blocking a passage) and de-energized (allowing pressure) there are four possible combinations of ways for SSA and SSB to allow fluid to flow (On-On; On-Off; Off-Off; and Off-On). Those combinations give you the separate gears in your automatic transmission based on the routing of fluid through the transmission’s internal passage ways to the holding devices such as bands and clutch packs.

When a solenoid stops working you typically hear that the transmission isn’t shifting into a gear. With that in mind it is easy to see that the electrical side of any computerized or ‘electronically’ operated transmission is just as important as the mechanical side. All sorts of shift ailments which most folks would consider to be serious are often a shift control solenoid. If fixed asap, no other problems should be present. If left alone, the main problem may lead to other problems, thus embellishing the situation. Leading to a possible transmission failure.

Before you loose your mind if the check engine light comes on and the car seems to be working improperly, seek professional help. Listening to the folks on the forums or the folks who say, “replace this or replace that, $75.00 for diagnosis is a ripoff” is a setup for failure. What I recommend doing is the exact opposite of above expert. Take your car to your trusted mechanic, a well respected transmission shop or the dealership, at least for a diagnosis.

The beauty of a good diagnosis is that you get to the root or the problem fast. Wasting money on replacing parts can be a lot more expensive than getting to the bottom of the problem and making a reliable repair before the problem gets worse. Manual Transmission Shifting Tips and Techniques.

Manual Transmissions

Manual Transmissions

The first manual transmissions tip that I would like to offer is that get to know the system. A person who wants to drive a car in the manual transmission mode must know the action of the gearshift lever. It must be noted that every gear change is different and the lever must be moved in a particular direction, with appropriate pressure, in order to change the gear.

One must also know functions of the three foot pedals on the floor. Every pedal has a different function. The accelerator pedal that is also known as the gas pedal is used to increase the speed of the car. On the other hand, the break pedal is used to slow down or stop the car. The third foot pedal, is the most critical of all. This pedal is known as the clutch. The clutch pedal is attached to a device that is known as the clutch plate, which is inside the gearbox.

When the clutch pedal is pressed down, the energy that is being transferred from the engine, is cut off. The clutch is pressed down, when the transit between two gears takes place. When the clutch lever is pressed down, the car goes into a ‘neutral’ stage, that is, the stage where the engine and gearbox do not remain in a connected stage.

The basic manual transmission technique is to start the movement of the car gradually. Press the clutch and bring the car to a neutral stage, that is, move the lever of the gear into the middle slot. Start up the engine and again press down the clutch. Move the gear lever into the first gear. When the gear is engaged you will hear a slight click. Remember ‘not to’ release the clutch during the process. After the gear has been engaged, slowly and gradually release the clutch. Simultaneously, press down the accelerator pedal. Remember to co-ordinate the pressing down and release of the gears, as it leads to a very smooth gear engagement. One more thing that you must bear in mind is that a sudden release of clutch makes the car jump and stall.

Among the other manual transmission shifting techniques, a very important tip is that once the car is in motion, when one has to increase or decrease the speed, simply press down the clutch and transmit the appropriate gear. A higher gear will give you more energy and a lower one will give you less energy.

Of all the manual transmission shifting techniques, this is the one that people tend to forget. One should never be in a hurry to engage higher gears, especially during heavy traffic. Driving unnecessarily in the higher gear is not only risky, but it also reduces the mileage of the engine. Correct manual transmission shifting is a matter of practice and not just about the theory of manual transmission shifting techniques.

I hope these manual transmission shifting tips and techniques were helpful. Last but not least, the final two manual transmission shifting tips are to use a seat belt, while driving, and drive safe! GotTransmissions.com @ 866-320-1182

Volkswagen Transmissions at Affordable Pricing.

Volkswagen Transmissions

Volkswagen Transmissions

Throw your car transmissions in reverse and … ? Guess who is joining the lengthening list of automakers giving folks a break when it comes to parking in those tight spots? Volkswagen started using ParkAssist in 2007 in the  Touran van, the company’s first vehicle to include ParkAssist. Utilizing those sensitive ultrasonic sensors on the front and rear of the automobile, a control unit determines the available space and best suited trajectory to maneuver the vehicle into a parking spot.

Acoustic and visual displays help guide the (probably overwhelmed) driver into the correct starting position, and once he / she throws it in reverse, ParkAssist takes over. As the system’s name implies, it’s not fully autonomous, and the system still requires you to apply acceleration / brakes while it handles the steering end of it. While this may not be as adventurous as riding shotgun in a vehicle on autopilot, the promise of parking within 15 seconds of ParkAssist kicking in is rather impressive, and you can expect this fancy (and likely costly) option became available beginning June 2007.

What does this type of system have in common with a car transmission? Nothing, by and large. It is a very interesting subject in itself. GotTransmissions.com is all about selling the best replacement transmissions on the market, however, on occasion we will bring you interesting vibes such as this one. If you are here because you are in need of one of our replacement Volkswagen Transmissions, rest assured you are at the right place, call GotTransmissions.com @ 866-320-1182. Transfer Cases: Use Them or Lose Them.

Transfer Cases for Sale

Transfer Cases for Sale

“Where Our Customers Send Their Friends”

Very few people who own a four wheel drive vehicle use the four wheel drive very often. In fact, I would venture to say most four wheel drive owners don’t need to use the transfer case ( four wheel drive) more than once or twice a year, if that much. Case in point, me. I own a 1988 1 ton four wheel drive pickup truck, which I bought new. I have no real use for using 4X4 (four wheel drive) ever. I do it specifically because I don’t want to be looking for transfer cases for sale.

What is my secret for long life? It is easy, every 3 or 4 months I put my truck in four wheel high range. This can be done while moving on 99% of the four wheel or all wheel drive vehicles on the road, and give the entire setup a chance to engage and sling the lubrication throughout the transfer case and front differential assembly.

The purpose of this procedure can be applied to any vehicle  that does not get driven at least every month. As in a motorhome. The basic paradigm is that when certain components in a vehicle, like the transfer case in a 4X4 or the drive-train in a motorhome don’t get used everyday, they can become covered in rust since the lubrication is not bathing all of the components constantly. The solution is easy, on a motorhome, drive it back and forth about 20 feet every few months to get the juices flowing and covering components that don’t get juiced or lubricated when the vehicle is not being used. As I said earlier, put your four wheel drive vehicle in hi range and low range every 3 to 4 months to get the juices flowing in the transfer case.

I recommend using synthetic lubricants since they have better cling life and overall lubricating abilities. If your vehicle was built in the last 15 years, chances it already came with synthetic lubrication from the factory. Either way, use synthetic lubricants.

Take the time needed to read our blog, it is full of other useful transmission and transfer case information to help your car last longer. Feel free to poke around, and ask me in the comment column if you have a question. Buy Transmissions: Chevy 4L60E Transmissions For Sale Cheap.

The 4L60E Chevy transmissions may be one of the best transmissions ever built, not to mention their popularity has grown over the years. Speaking of the good things about the 4l60E transmissions, it’s predecessor the 700R4 was the first highly successful automatic overdrive transmission made. The 700 is a legend amongst people looking for a durable, versatile automatic overdrive transmission to replace a 3 speed automatic transmission in a car they want to improve gas mileage and engine life in and keep the car.

The 4L60E is the first fully computerized version of the 700R4 transmission to be made. Essentially it is a 7ooR4 that has a different valve body and several input sensors in the case. Using a transmission control unit to give the transmission commands. Most of the mechanical upgrades designed to increase the overall strength of the 700R4 and 4L60E are interchangeable back and forth. Allowing both units to share the best upgrades, producing a bullet proof transmission.

With the advent and continuing research and development for these transmissions by the best research and development companies, upgrade kits, which work on the brain of the transmission primarily, or valve body, allow for cleaner more obvious shifts, more lubrication flow throughout the inside of the transmission and updates to areas that will show up when you exceed the mileage the original unit achieved. It will last longer.

Using a quality brand of synthetic automatic transmission fluid (ATF) like Mobil One or the equivalent is one of the small secrets that is essentially the icing on the cake. In reality it is not much of a secret anymore, the big problem is shops who don’t use synthetic fluids because they cost too much. Believe me, it costs a lot more in the short or long term to use conventional fluids.

You add up the updates, the better quality parts and synthetic ATF and you have a recipe for an excellent working, long lasting transmission that exceeds every expectation you ever had on a rebuilt transmission. Call GotTransmissions.com @ 866-320-1182 for more information on a replacement transmission that is in your best interests, explained to you in terms you will understand.

Rebuilt Transmissions Clutch Plate Guide..

Rebuilt Transmissions

Rebuilt Transmissions

Raybestos OE clutches are the original equipment clutches that are used in factory-installed new transmissions. They exceed all manufacturer’s specifications for each application. Raybestos tan clutches are manufactured from specially impregnated paper and are the best on the market to handle most normal passenger car and light truck conditions. However, different applications require different papers and resin content, so Raybestos makes its own paper and custom blends the resins to assure that every clutch is the right one for the job.

My favorite Raybestos replacement clutch plates are the Raybestos OE clutches which are the original equipment clutches that are used in factory-installed transmissions. They exceed all manufacturer’s specifications for each application. Raybestos tan clutches are manufactured from specially impregnated paper and are the best on the market to handle most normal passenger car and light truck conditions.

However, different applications require different papers and resin content so Raybestos makes its own paper and custom blends the resins to assure that every clutch is the right one for the job. The tan clutch plate combines superior materials and advanced production methods to improve performance and durability. The technology produces an OE friction material that can “inhale and exhale” oil quickly to maximize cooling and reduce the potential for glazing. This plate is manufactured unground to reduce debris. When compared to other tan friction plates, the Tan plate provides: Superior resiliency Superior shift feel Smoother engagement characteristics Improved clutch life, Reduced break-in wear and contamination.

The tan plates are called Hi-Energy clutch plates by folks in the transmission industry. Using the best clutch or friction plates is one of the things that separates the best transmissions from poorly transmissions. GotTransmissions.com only sells transmissions that have the best clutch plates, we also make good use of the best upgrade kits available. Our recipe has produced a consistently better product than our competitors. Call us @ 866-320-1182 for more important facts on why our transmissions keep our customers sending their friends to us.

Rebuilt Transmissions Last Longer with Synthetic Automatic Transmission Fluid

Rebuilt Transmissions

Rebuilt Transmissions

Modern car and truck transmissions use Synthetic Universal Automatic Transmission Fluid (ATF), it is engineered to outperform conventional automatic transmission fluids and exceed the performance requirements of most North American, European and Asian vehicles. Note: Check your owners manual to make sure you don’t need a brand specific fluid, such as Honda cars….This sophisticated formulation provides outstanding performance and protection in the severe operating conditions of today’s most advanced transmission designs.

Automatic transmissions have become increasingly complex as vehicle manufacturers strive to improve efficiency while satisfying consumer demands. Smaller, smoother-shifting transmissions with longer fluid-life capabilities and heavier load capacities are now standard in modern transmission design. Traditional ATFs, however, are unable to meet these extreme requirements, and new fluids have emerged with each new advancement in transmission engineering. Oil companies finally  introduced a synthetic automatic transmission fluid in 1980 and it remains the leader in transmission fluid quality.

Synthetic Universal ATF is formulated with the highest-quality synthetic fluids and additives. It exceeds the most stringent industry standards and is universally recommended for a wide range of transmissions. Synthetic Universal ATF reduces confusion, misapplications and inventories. It eliminates the need for costly and suspect “one-treatment-covers-all”
additives.

Exceptional Hot- and Cold- Temperature Performance
Thermal Stability – Hot temperatures are no excuse for poor reliability. Naturally heat resistant and heavily fortified with anti-oxidants, synthetic  ATF exceeds the most demanding oxidation requirements. synthetic ATF delivers outstanding protection against sludge and varnish deposits that clog narrow oil passages and contribute to clutch glazing. Transmissions can operate hotter and longer with synthetic ATF than with conventional fluids.

Cold-Temperature Fluidity – Cold, thick automatic transmission fluid lengthens shift times and reduces energy efficiency (fuel economy). Synthetic ATF is wax-free and delivers extraordinary cold-flow properties (< -60°F pour point). Shifting is more responsive, energy efficiency is improved and warm-up times are reduced.

It is easy to see why using synthetic ATF is critical to modern cars in particular, since all cars come with synthetic ATF as a factory fill nowadays. All rebuilt should transmissions use synthetic ATF (or you should not buy it) because new transmission components like clutch plates and bands are engineered to use synthetic  ATF. Don’t forget that some brands of cars use brand specific fluid, simply put, you have to buy the fluid for that car from the dealer, see your owners manual……GotTransmissions.com @ 866-320-1182.
