Used Transmissions For Sale

Used Transmissions for Sale @ GotTransmissions.com

Sooner or later everyone comes to realize that unforeseen obstacles get in the way of the best planned budgets. Some folks take extreme efforts to figure out their budgets so they can live within their means. Even the best of plans, where you figure in a certain amount of extra money for unexpected expenses can be blown out of the water with one expensive incident. Such as a transmissions failure.

Our used transmissions for sale are surprisingly well priced and provide an equitable solution for the cost conscious consumer. Even we are surprised at how many of our customers are choosing this very viable option to get their cars back on the road. Ninety nine percent of car owners would not even know the difference between a refurbished transmission and a low mileage used transmission by driving the car.

The secret is locating used gearboxes that are removed from cars with less than 40,000 miles. Not as easy to find as it sounds. One of our specialties is doing the research to find the cream of the crop. At 40,000 miles, a well maintained used unit is one of the best values in the automotive replacement parts field.

One of the things I really like about a low mileage used transmissions is that we use the VIN, an acronym for vehicle identification number to identify the transmission in your car. By using the VIN, we can locate a car or truck with the exact same transmission identification as yours, thus providing the perfect match.

This is more important for newer computerized cars. The computer commands the transmission to shift, how hard the shifts should be and when the shifts should occur. Even if two transmissions look exactly the same on the outside, one may be produced for a luxury car such as a Chrysler Imperial and the other may be for a pickup truck.

Certainly you would not want the harsh shifts of a pickup truck in your luxury car, and how long would a luxury car transmission last in a pickup truck used for work purposes? I think you understand the importance of dealing with an outlet that knows the transmission field in full.

Before you make any decisions concerning your purchase of a replacement transmission, take the time to call us @ 866-320-1182 and speak with one of our staff members about the merits of buying a used transmission with value built into it. We guarantee it. All of our units are pre tested and certified, the ones that don’t pass the test go back the recycle yard. Call us, GotTransmissions.com.

Simply calling us up and saying that you are interested in 1995 Chevy Transmissions is not a very a very precise statement. We don’t care what color the vehicle is either. Jetta Transmission

Designed to be a sedan version of Volkswagen’s popular Golf/Rabbit hatchback, the Jetta was introduced in 1979 and has become Volkswagen’s best-selling car in North America. In its first year, the Jetta was available as either a two-door or four-door version with a 78-horsepower, 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine paired with a 5-speed manual Volkswagen transmission. An optional diesel engine was also available, reaching 50-hp.

The Jetta uses a front mounted engine and transverse mounted transmission. The original Volkswagen was a rear engine car with a 4 speed rear mounted standard transmission. So the Jetta was a departure from the usual patterns of thinking at VW.

After receiving a few upgrades in engine power and standard features, the Jetta was redesigned in 1984. A diesel engine was added to the list of options in the mid-’80s, including a high-end Wolfsburg GLI trim package. Other new additions included the Jetta Carat luxury model, introduced in 1988, and the Jetta ECOdiesel, equipped with a turbocharged 59-horsepower, 1.6-liter diesel engine that delivered high mileage while giving off fewer pollutants. It made its first appearance in showrooms in 1992.

The third-generation Jetta was slow to arrive in 1993, due to labor problems at the automaker’s plant in Mexico, but through the ’90s and into the 2000s, drivers continued to be enthusiastic about the Jetta. It is, most drivers agree, a functional family car that offers durability, reliability, plenty of room, and good gas mileage. Combined with smooth handling and confident braking, the Jetta provided a memorable driving experience.

The newer 5th and 6th generations of the VW Jetta include a variety of transmission choices: 5-speed manual 04A: 6-speed manual 02Q: 6-speed automatic 09G: 6-speed DSG 02E and 7-speed DSG.

The twin-clutch transmission, also known as the Direct Shift Gearbox (DSG) or dual-clutch transmission, is an automated transmission that can change gears faster than any other geared transmission. Twin-clutch transmissions deliver more power and better control than a traditional automatic transmission and faster performance than a manual transmission. Originally marketed by Volkswagen as the DSG and Audi as the S-Tronic, twin-clutch transmissions are now being offered by several automakers, including Nissan, Mitsubishi, BMW and Porsche.

Providing hard to find information is one of the reasons we have outperformed our competition. Trying to find detailed information on the Volkswagen Jetta transmissions is like trying to find hens teeth. It ain’t there. Leave that to GotTransmissions.com, having spent plenty of time making sure our information is current and accurate, we suggest that you call us for all of your Volkswagen and Jetta transmission questions and needs. 866-320-1182.

Rebuilt GM THM-4T65E Transmissions-Transaxles

Rebuilt GM 4T65E Transmissions-Transaxles For Sale

Rebuilt GM 4T65E Transmissions-Transaxles For Sale

This General Motors 4T65E transaxle/transmissions fit Chevy, Pontiac, Buick, Cadillac and Oldsmobile front wheel drive cars, are fully automatic transmissions with electronic controls. Shifts are all controlled by the PCM (pressure control module), by two shift solenoids, line pressure is also fully electronic and controlled by a PCS (pressure control solenoid), or EPC which is commanded by the PCM.

This transaxle also employs the use of a (torque converter clutch), or TCC and is used to further enhance gas mileage and keep engine RPMs lower. The TCC style in this trans is a PWM type, which stands for pulse width modulation. This style PWM TCC system was developed to allow for a smooth engagement of lockup and allows constant slippage of the TCC and can apply in 2nd through 4th gears.

The constant slippage is tolerable to the converter because of a special TCC lining developed especially for this purpose and is called a Woven lining. An ordinary TCC clutch would burn up and shudder violently if used in this type of system.

Using the correct rebuilt torque converter with this particular transmission is critical for proper operation and lifespan. Deal with professionals when purchasing this exact transaxle, many torque converters look alike on the outside.

This has proven to be a reliable transmission/transaxle being used in practically all of the General Motors front wheel drive cars using overdrive. In fact, there are no more non-overdrive transmissions available in most car manufacturers lineups.

One of the few upgrades possible that improves the overall shift quality and in particular improves the TCC system described above is a carefully crafted upgrade shift improvement kit. Using OEM (original equipment parts) or better with an upgrade kit is the surest way to success when searching for a rebuilt transmission.

The final ingredient to complete the job is critical. Use factory recommended fully synthetic automatic transmission fluid in this unit. The factory fill is a synthetic fluid. Synthetic fluids are very slippery, they also allow a larger operating temperature, insuring the ATF will perform it’s duties in extreme cold or hot temperatures.

GotTransmissions.com has been outperforming the industry competition by building value in every rebuilt Pontiac transmission we offer for sale. Call us at 866-320-1182 and speak to a trained representative about how we can outfit you with a transmission that suits your budget and needs.

Is An Automatic Transmission My Only Choice?

A new motor won’t do much to move the car unless you hook it up to the transmission of choice. The question becomes are you interested in automatic transmissions or a manual transmissions. On the automatic side, technology has come leaps and bounds over the past few years with new options added to the shifting arsenal. Automatics have grown from the simple two-speed Powerglide all the way up to a six-speed automatic and others in between.

There are a few things to consider when choosing an automatic. What will you use the car for? Daily driving to get the groceries and run endless errands or is it a fun car, Sunday only cruiser?

You may want to consider whether or not you want a computer controlled automatic transmission. If you are going for all out quarter-mile action, then a older non computerized low power robbing Powerglide, TH350, or TH400 might be the best way to go. If you want the added fuel economy an overdrive will bring, then you will need to look into a 200R4 or a 700R4 transmission in this post

Most of these are still non-computer controlled using a TV cable to adjust line pressure. The higher end of overdrive transmissions will be the 4L60, 4L80 four-speeds. There are even six-speed automatics out there like the 6L80. There are heavy duty units made to handle a lot of power and offer great control over shift points. The only issues with these will be the higher cost of the units and the necessity of a new shifter. Again the aftermarket has those parts.

Now, if you are the kind of driver who wants to take full control of the shifting for drag racing or autocross events, then we recommend a manual shift. Just like the automatics, manuals have become modernized with time. Even though an M-22 four-speed is the old school king of muscle car manual gearboxes, they are getting scarce. While the Rock Crusher will hold a lot of power, the newer versions not only can handle the horsepower, but have one or two more gears.

Swapping a five- or six-speed has gotten a lot easier thanks to the complete kits that are out there that allow change over transmissions which bolt in as easy as a factory transmission. Just know that even though most of these kits are complete you will still need to track down a clutch pedal assembly and clutch master cylinder.

You have to decide if you like to shift gears or enjoy letting the transmission do all the work for you. Call one of our representatives and find out what your transmission replacement options may be. Don’t forget to ask about our extended warranty plans when you call. Mercedes Benz Rebuilt Transmissions

Graduate To A Mercedes Rebuilt Transmission by GotTransmissions.com

Graduate To A Mercedes Rebuilt Transmission by GotTransmissions.com

From 1990 thru 1995, the Mercedes Benz SL500 used a boring hydraulic 4-speed automatic transmission. It was boring because it rarely downshift upon command. A much improved 5-speed electronic controlled automatic transmission was introduced in 1996 and used through today. The 5-speed automatic greatly improves the driving experience because it downshifts instantly, as well as adding a fuel saving overdrive.

Unfortunately the first SL500s had ordinary hydraulic 4 speed automatic transmission that were slow to kick down, if at all. It was great from a standing stop and on paper, but dull to drive since you miss most of the power from a lack of kick-down if you’re already moving.

Even when it did kick down it wouldn’t always kick all the way down at WOT (wide open throttle) shifts. Ratios were 3.87, 2.25, 1.44 and 1.00 with a 2.65 rear for shift points of 44, 76, 119 MPH and 2,170 RPM at 60 MPH. You can identify this transmission by the “P R N D 3 2 ” indication on the transmission selector. The newer 5 speed says “P R N D 4 3 2 1”

The 5 speed is the main reason that these and newer cars are so much more drivable and fun than earlier cars, and also why they give better fuel economy. Even at part throttle these downshift expertly, unlike the older transmission which rarely would downshift for anything, cheating you out of much of the engine’s performance for real-world driving.

The added fifth gear is an overdrive which boosts the EPA highway MPG rating from 20 to 23 MPG. The transmission learns what you’re doing, so it adapts electronically to your driving style. For instance, in a 100MPH acceleration run uphill it stays in 3rd gear for quite a while even after lifting off the gas, in anticipation of being hammered again. Caution: it’s not quite smart enough to prevent you from doing something unfortunate, like being popped into reverse at 100MPH. Many ordinary cars today, like Dodge minivans, are smart enough not to do this even if you move the shift lever.

If you get sluggish response be sure to have the new transmission mode selector set to “S” for Summer or Sport. The “W” position, for Winter or Wet, deliberately starts in 2nd gear. In 2005 models Mercedes renamed the “W” Wet selection to “C” for Comfort.

We are one of the best resources for Mercedes Benz Rebuilt Transmissions. With a few easy to locate numbers, we will sell you a completely rebuilt transmission that is calibrated for your exact model of Mercedes.

Ask about our bullet-proof warranty plans. Every Mercedes transmission is rebuilt with the same quality built into the car. Call GotTransmissions.com @ 866-320-1182 and speak with someone who cares about selling you the best transmission for your needs.

Pre-Tested Transmissions for Sale….Guaranteed

Pre Tested Used Transmissions For Sale

Pre Tested Used Transmissions For Sale

Question: How do you know if a transmission for sale is any good if it came out of a wrecked car or where ever you get them from if you can’t drive the car first? Are any tests performed on used transmissions in order to assure me that the transmission is sound and has plenty of life in it? I can’t afford a rebuilt transmission, but how do you know if a rebuilt or remanufactured transmission is rebuilt properly and is not going to be a defect?

Answer: We feel the same way you do, we will show you legitimate proof that any used transmission purchased was tested and would last longer than the guarantee. Or a rebuilt transmission as well. I also think that any legitimate transmission supplier understands that qualified customers want to make sure they get their money’s worth.

After saying that, you would be correct in thinking the transmission should be tested. Obviously if the car was wrecked it may be hard to test the transmission. Without taking the transmission apart:

#1. Start with checking the quality of the transmission fluid. It has to be pink, just like it was when it was fresh. Any discoloration is a sign that some problems may be brewing up, but are not showing up yet.
#2. The two machines used to test that a transmission or engine is working properly both cold and hot are: A. a dynamometer and B. a professional grade electrical system scan tool – tester.

A dynamometer is a large and expensive device that a transmission can be bolted to and simulate all of the driving conditions most people encounter. For a transmission, the dyno has an power source of some type to power the transmission. To complete the tests a scan tool or analyzer has to be hooked up during the test cycle on the dynamometer to monitor critical functions of the electrical system. Some of the fancier dynamometers have the scan tools and testers built in.

The two tests should be performed at the same time, and for at least an hour. The main reason for the long testing period is: many transmissions will work great cold, but act up hot. For a transmission, since it does not have any heat generated such as an internal combustion engine, it takes a good 30 minutes to warm up to operating temperature. I feel an hour is the necessary amount of running time to prove the transmission is healthy both hot and cold.

Remember, a used transmission is used, and at the time of installation, request that a new front pump is re-sealed. Note: It is one of the seals/leak areas that requires transmission removal if it leaks. Make sure you change the transmission fluid and filter, and last make sure to flush the transmission cooling system out with the proper type of flusher.

Not every used engine supplier runs these tests. Instead they use good old fashioned luck. Luck is a good ingredient, but scientifically proving the transmission is good is the only way you will convince me. That is why GotTransmissions.com has outperformed the competition for years. The only transmissions they sell go through this rigorous testing procedure.

The reality is that even though the equipment to run these tests is not cheap, it actually saves everyone money by not selling the troublesome transmissions. It costs someone money to have to pull a defective transmission out of a car and wait for another transmission, that is also not tested to arrive. Think about it.

Rebuilt 4160E Transmissions On Sale For Less

4L60E-Automatic Transmissions For Sale

4L60E-Automatic Transmissions For Sale

One of the best automatic transmissions for cars and light duty trucks is the General Motors 4L60E. What that stands for is a 4 speed, Longitudinal (rear wheel drive), 60 Series, Electronic overdrive automatic transmission.

What makes it so good is partly due to the original design and making the necessary upgrades as technologies improve. Possibly the most common transmission used in the GM rear wheel drive vehicles.

Essentially this unit is structurally sound. For the most part there have been few design changes in this transmission. By the time the venerable T700R4 went out of production, any and all integrity issues were solved by upgrading any weak-links in the internal structure transitioning the 700 into a computer controlled electronic electronic 4 speed overdrive transmission with lockup.

Instead of the now antiquated hydraulic control system of the 700, the 4L60E unit is an electronically controlled transmission, using signals from a complicated subsystem of input sensors, control solenoids, various engine sensors, all delivered to a computer system capable of putting the info together, thus making shifting decisions for your vehicle.

One of the few improvements or upgrades for this unit is what is called a shift upgrade or recalibration kit. What this does is revise the thinking patterns of the valve body, or brain of the transmission for better quality shifts and by allowing more lubrication flow to all critical internal components.

If you choose one of our transmissions, you can bet every single one of them comes with the latest upgrades available. We also like to know exactly what the purpose of your vehicle is so we can outfit you with the rebuilt transmission that suits your interests the best.

When you call GotTransmissions.com, we will not only provide some education for you in terms you understand, we will also ask plenty of questions so we can recommend the rebuilt transmission that fits your budget and needs. Call us at 866-320-1182 and speak to a trained transmission representative about your transmission replacement issues.

Looking Into Replacement Automatic Transmissions.

Replacement Transmissions at GotTransmissions.com

Replacement Transmissions at GotTransmissions.com

Every now and then someone ends up in a spot where a choice has to be made in regards to replacing your cars automatic transmission or replacing the car. An in depth evaluation of the whole car, it’s overall condition and determining if it is worthy of reclamation or be put to rest is in order.

First things first, if you really have good feelings for your car or truck or SUV then the idea of keeping the vehicle is probably more palatable, unless you don’t care about what car you drive or about cars at all.

If your car is already has one foot in the grave, then using such remedies as transmission rebuild in a can or ”bring your worn car back to life” supplements to treat multiple problems that are relatively serious, maybe it is time to replace the vehicle. But if the bulk of the car or truck is solid and the body is still in good shape, it makes sense to invest enough money to bring your vehicle up to snuff than taking on a loan payment.

Most people feel like they blew it a few months into a loan payment when they reconsider their decision, in retrospect. So, for all practical purposes even though the grass may look greener on the other side. After we get there, it was not so green after all.

Thus lies the fork in the road, or as my dad might have said, as you approach the biforkation, which road will you travel? Do you travel the fork that says replace the transmission or, do you travel the fork that says replace the car?

In most cases you are on the the greener grass now. Most folks don’t consider that a replacement tranny is an exiting operation to perform that can bring your car back to life. Once you feel the renewed power, increase fuel economy and overall feeling of making a great decision, it turns out you already had the solution right on your own grass.

One of my suggestions to anyone who opts to buy a replacement trans., whether it’s a rebuilt transmission or one of our low mileage used transmissions is to examine and then renew certain related components and hard to reach components when the transmission is out the vehicle.

The major components include renewing the cooling system, replacing the transmission mounts, and looking at every item bolted to the engine. Air conditioner compressor, water pump, power steering pump, alternator and the various other items under your hood.

Lets get down to brass tacks. Where do you buy engines that are reliable and affordable? Price is important, don’t get me wrong, but you can’t shop for a replacement transmission by price.
You have to shop for quality first.

Surprisingly enough, the most qualified suppliers of transmissions are very cost friendly. What I mean is that a qualified replacement transmission will last a long time, thus making it a great value.

My recommendation to anyone who needs to buy a replacement transmission would be to contact one of the professional transmission sales people at GotTransmissions.com and spend as much time discussing your needs with someone who genuinely can and wants to help you make the best decision for your interests. We welcome your calls and look forward to proving an education to all of our customers. Call us now at 866-320-1182.
