Volkswagen VW Passat Transmissions for Sale

The VW Passat was introduced in 1972 as a mid to large size car. It deviates from the Beetle in many ways. The way it deviates the most is in it’s drive-line design. VW adopted the very common and successful Transverse transmission arrangement. Being of solid design and used extensively on other makes of cars, VW put their brand on said system. For those who want to buy Volkswagen VW Passat Transmissions for Sale, GotTransmissions.com is one call away, 866-320-1182. Call right now for a free low price quote, or read on.

The Passat has evolved very much over the years. When VW was introduced, it was called the ”Peoples Car”. A car everyone could afford, which was easy to maintain and affordable to fix. Well, modern technology has changed most of the easy to fix part. But the tradeoff is a fair one, the Passat out-drives many other cars in it’s class and price range with ease.

From offering a 4 speed manual transmission and a 3 speed automatic transmission, they are now building some of the most advanced and outstanding transmissions in the world. In today’s society, that is a good tradeoff for most folks. Reliability is the issue.

Jump forward to the newest generation of Passat and we have a very high technology drive system called ”4MOTION four wheel drive, that comes with a 6 speed twin clutch direct shift Gearbox [transmissions] [DSG]. 4motion the name of Volkswagens patented drive system, used exclusively on Volkswagen automobiles which use four-wheel drive [4WD] systems.

The Direct-Shift Gearbox[ DSG] is computer controlled, electronically activated dual clutch disc multiple/shaft manual transmission, a transaxle design, without a clutch pedal, with full automatic or semi-automatic controls.

Simply put, it is two separate manual transmissions and two clutch discs, contained within one housing, and working as one unit to evenly distribute the power across the entire drive-line.

Being that this is not an ordinary transmission system, the first suggestion I would make should you suspect, or know you have a transmission problem is to seek professional help. It is not a job for the back yard mechanic.

My second suggestion holds as much water or more as the first one. Buy your Passat transmission from the best supply company you can find. Transmissions are not a good area to cut corners on, especially high technology transmissions. It always costs less in the long and short run to buy a product which is rebuilt properly, or is is known to be in perfect working order with a warranty to prove it.

I won’t and can’t suggest which type of transmission will suit your interests and pocketbook. What I can say is GotTransmissions has an excellent variety of precision transmissions using original VW parts or better, with every approved Volkswagen update, or, one of our certified good used transmissions.

There is no wrong way to go when you buy from GotTransmissions.com. Our service representatives are eager to help you learn more about transmission replacement and we have our products arranged for immediate shipment or delivery as as soon as the order is completed. Call GotTransmissions.com right now for a free estimate. 866-320-1182

Buy a Subaru Outback Transmission for less.

My first experience with a Subaru Outback was when the first commercials came out with Crocodile Dundee as a spokesperson. I loved those movies. The car or SUV as it is known to be, is a crossover design, meaning it will navigate the highways with grace and with the flick of a lever, you can go off-roading. Subaru has always made good transmissions, that’s exactly why you should call GotTransmissions.com if you need to buy quality Subaru Outback Transmissions.

First put on the market in 1995, transmission options were simple and basic. A 4 speed automatic transmission, and a 5 speed manual transmission was all that was offered. Parenthetically, the Outback is a front wheel drive/four wheel drive vehicle. It uses a different setup than other front wheel drive vehicles.

Instead of the very common method of transversely mounting the engine and transmission under the hood, Subaru uses a longitudinal design to achieve front wheel drive and four wheel drive. Essentially the transmission is separate from the differential/transfer case, as opposed to the more common transverse design, where the transmission and differential are in the same case/housing.

As far as I’m concerned, functionally speaking, neither design has an advantage. Mechanically speaking, this method is somewhat more complicated to design and produce, which, in my opinion is why it is not as popular.

Incidentally, Subaru, however is one of the first companies to make use of CVT [continually variable transmission] transmissions. In fact, the fourth generation Outback is the 9th Subaru to feature a CVT.

For instance, the five speed automatic transmission is called a 5EAT and uses a feature Subaru calls SportShift. Essentially a JatcoJR507E transmission with an overdrive feature and lockup torque converter.

Ford Motor Company also uses the same transmission on some cars that are made by Mazda, which is called the 4EAT [4 speeds] and 5EAT [5 speeds]. As an example, the Ford Probe and Mazda 626 use the same platform, engine and transmission. They are the same car except for trim packages.

Back to the Subaru Outback. As a general rule, the most common replacement transmissions for this vehicle are remanufactured units. In terms of value, nothing can beat it. Priced well less than most folks expect, this is our best seller.

Call first, but for those not interested in, or who can’t quite afford a rebuilt transmission, we offer a lineup of certified good used transmissions, complete with torque converter and a confidence building guarantee.

You have to make the call. It won’t happen by itself. Pick up the phone and call GotTransmissions.com for some realistic advise and information on how to choose a transmission that meets your needs, from budget to application. Call 866-320-1182 right now for a free quote.

Cadillac CTS Transmissions for Sale

I’m going to cut right to the chase. I’m a transmission man. I have been in the transmission business for over 30 years. Cadillac has offered too many transmission options [CTS] for me to go into great detail on each one, it would take too long. Suffice it to say, Caddy made sure everyone has a transmission and engine option to suit ones needs. If you ever need to replace your transmission and want to buy a Cadillac CTS transmission for sale, or just gather info, GotTransmissions.com is the place.

The only Cadillac to offer a manual transmission since the 1988 Cadillac Cimeron.
On-demand all-wheel drive was offered with an automatic transmission only. All of the CTS transmissions are made for rear wheel drive cars only.

The first generation of CTS was made from 2003 to 2007. If you want to identify your transmission, here is a list of said transmissions. The Tremec T-56 is a common manual transmission. The AY-6 is a 6-speed manual transmission manufactured by Aisin. It is designed for longitudinal engine applications. Longitudinal meaning front engine/rear wheel drive, with a drive-shaft connecting the transmission to the rear differential.

5-speed 5L40-E automatic
5-speed Getrag 260 manual
6-speed Aisin AY-6 manual
6-speed Tremec T-56 manual

The second generation was introduced in 2008 and is still being made. Using a similar array of transmissions, they included more forward gears in most cases. The Tremec came with 6 forward speeds as opposed to 5. Except for the Aisin AY-6, the other units now have 6 forward speeds, with a lock up torque converter.

A lock up torque converter is like an extra forward gear, so you end up with even more fuel savings, and a longer engine life. Here is a list for your convenience, even if you don’t know it.

6-speed 6L50 automatic
6-speed 6L90 automatic
6-speed Aisin AY-6 manual

I can’t and don’t recommend which transmission you should buy to replace your broken or worn out unit. What is important to know is that we sell top quality, premium grade transmissions with our exclusive peace of mind warranty. We also sell low mileage used transmissions when available for unusually low prices.

Lincoln MKZ Transmissions for Sale

The MKZ was brought out in 2006 to compete in the lower end luxury car field. It is a mid sized 4 door sedan built on the Mazda CD3 platform. Ford and Mazda use many interchangeable components in certain cars. It is still in production, and Lincoln kept the choices of transmissions quite simple. Only one Lincoln MKZ transmission for sale was offered in the car.

For interested parties, this is front wheel drive vehicle, with a four wheel drive option. Sometimes we call it all wheel drive [AWD]. A transverse mounting system.

The Aisin 6F is a Six-Speed Select Shift Automatic Transmission Electronic Continuously Variable (e-CVT). Ford Motor Company’s worked with with General Motors on the design and development of the 6F [6 speed, front wheel drive] transaxle.

Controlled by a computer and microprocessor, which is the aggregate for all transmission control functions into the power control module [PCM]. Able to real time program the operating characteristics of each shift from the proper PCM, which results in an extremely smooth operating transmission from the first time the vehicle is driven.

Internally it resembles most other automatic overdrive transmissions, or transaxles in this case, since it is a front engine, front wheel drive vehicle. Using multiple clutch packs and compound planetary gears to produce 6 forward gears. Most people never notice the lock up toque converter engaging at over 50 mph. The equivalent of another forward speed, further reducing engine wear and increasing fuel mileage.

Chevy Cobalt Transmission for Sale, Affordable

The Chevy Cobalt is another compact car entry designed to be economical, yet have enough luxuries to satisfy almost everyone. Introduced in 2006 to replace the Prism and Cavalier. It is a front wheel drive car, which technically uses a transaxle, which is a combination transmission/differential, all in the same case. Searching for Chevy Cobalt Transmissions for Sale, affordable and easy to get?

The Cobalt uses a common front wheel drive arrangement. The transmission/engine assembly is mount sideways under the hood in the front of the car. If you look under the hood, this assembly runs across the car, or east to west, to the north south axis of the car.

Another item worth knowing is that a transaxle is designed for front wheel drive cars. If you have ever seen one disassembled, the first thought would be ”all of those parts came out of that case”? Yes, it’s really amazing to see thousands of complicated parts assembled into a complete functioning transmission.

Surprisingly, two manual transmissions are offered, a 5 speed F35 [MU3] manual transmission, and a 5 speed Getrag model F23 manual transmission. The F35 is a Saab transmission, or transaxle to be exact. Used in Saab and some GM transverse mounted engine/transmission setups.

The F23 is made by Getrag corp. and is a 5 speed manual transmission designed for front wheel drive applications primarily for GM cars. Two American versions are made: M86, MG3.

The automatic overdrive transmission offered in the Cobalt is a 4 speed automatic transmission-transaxle with a lock up torque converter. Lock up is subtle feature most people are not aware of which adds 2 to 4 miles per gallon.

The Saturn Vue Green Line hybrid uses the same transmission, one of the only hybrids I’m familiar with that does not use a CVT. In essence it was designed for GM’s line of 4 cylinder Ecotec engines. It’s a very high tech fully computerized transmission which receives signals from sensors all over the car and engine to command shifts at the right time.

For those interested in replacing a Cobalt transmission, Call the experts at GotTransmissions.com and learn which one of our replacement transmission options is in your best interests. Speak with a representative who cares that you get a transmission that suits your budget and needs.

An educated consumer makes better decisions, and is generally more satisfied with their choices. Allow us to provide the education you need before you decide.

Chevrolet Camaro Transmissions for Sale

The Chevy Camaro was introduced at a critical point in my life, 1967. I was 15 years old and loved cars. What else can I say. You had to be there. I happened to be working at a transmission repair shop at the time. Life was good. I worked at a transmission shop to support my habit of breaking lots of transmissions. Camaro transmissions still go bad and the best place to buy Chevy Camaro transmissions for sale is GotTransmissions.com.

The Camaro is a rear wheel drive car. It is not a complicated setup, basic in design, and durable as well. Over the years, the Camaro has used pretty basic transmissions. A full lineup of manual transmissions and automatic transmissions have always been available for said car.

The original Camaro used a basic 3 speed manual shift transmission, with a 4 speed optional. And you could get a 2 speed automatic transmission called the Powerglide, or one of two 3 speed automatic transmissions. The venerable Turbo 400 or famous T 350.

As times progressed and the Camaro was updated appropriately, the transmission options offered increased in the amount of forward speeds they had. For instance automatic overdrive transmissions were being introduced in the early ’80’s and the Camaro was a recipient.

As automatic transmissions became overdrive units with 4 and 5 forward gears and a lock up torque converter, the Camaro was in the mix. Offered as well with 5 sped manual transmissions and up to a 7 forward speed manual shift transmission in the current models.

The modern transmissions offered in today’s Camaro are all fully computerized with plenty of high technology involved. A computer is fed in real time metrics from input sensors on the engine and chassis to command the proper gear for any situation. Typical of today’s modern cars.

We receive calls from vintage Camaro owners, die hard owes who want the finest rebuilt original equipment transmissions. Money is not important to them, originality and quality are what counts. The good news is a rebuilt transmission is quite cost effective in the long run.

Even owners of new Camaro’s are die hard. Maybe their Daddy had one, or an original Camaro made a permanent impression on them.

The thing all Camaro owners what is the same though. A high quality replacement transmission that suits the spirit of the car and is a great value dollar wise.

Call one of our agents and get the scoop on which replacement transmission suits your best interests. We sell fully transmissions, crate new transmissions, and good used transmissions when available. The Milan uses a 5 speed and six speed manual transmission, a 5 or 6 speed automatic overdrive transmission, or a CVT in the hybrid model. CVT being a continuously variable transmission, capable of seamless shifts and unlimited gear ratios. It’s the perfect transmission type for a Hybrid car.

Honda Element Transmissions for Sale

The Honda Element was introduced in 2001 in North America. It is a compact boxy looking crossover which has a reputation for being ”dog friendly”. It is built on the reliable Honda CVC platform, which is front engine-front wheel drive with 4 wheel drive optional until 2007. If you have an element with a bad transmission, GotTransmissions.com has Honda element transmission for sale at low everyday prices. No gimmicks.

Being of the front wheel drive style, it uses Honda’s version of the common transverse mounting system. When I speak of this system, it is called transverse because the engine/transmission combo is located sideways or transversely under the hood. Going east to west, to the north south axis of the car.

When I mention it is Honda’s version, all I mean is that Honda makes an excellent setup, and it’s a bit different from the other manufacturers, but transverse in design. As a transmission mechanic for over 30 years, I personal think Honda has the market cornered on this particular design.

So, Honda offered 3 different transmissions to the public. A 5 speed manual transmission/transaxle, a 4 speed automatic transmission/ transaxle, and a 5 speed automatic transmission with overdrive. When I call the transmission a transaxle, I mean it literally. Both the transmission and rear axle are located in the same housing, thus a trans-axle.

If the vehicle has 4 wheel drive, a transfer case is added in order to transmit power to the other two wheels, the rear wheels in this case.

Honda transmissions are excellent transmissions, I have always felt that way. Somewhat unconventional in design, they get the job done in fine fashion, work excellently and last a long time, if you use genuine factory Honda transmission fluid.

Honda automatic transmission fluid is made for Honda transmissions only. You can only buy it from the dealer. Believe me when I tell you that, A. the transmission does not work as well on non Honda transmission fluid, and B. the transmission will have a pre-mature failure if you don’t use Genuine Honda ATF [automatic transmissions fluid].

If you asked me what is the best replacement transmission, my answer would be, ”call GotTransmissions.com”. I can only say we offer the finest replacement transmission on earth. Available immediately are transmissions, low mileage used transmissions, JDM transmissions and crate-new transmissions.

If you want some good advise on which transmission to buy, call the specialists at GotTransmissions.com and tell them your story. They have a transmission that suits your budget and interests, ready to ship right now. Call 866-320-1182.

Acura ZDX Transmissions For Sale

The Acura ZDX is powered by a spicy V-6 engine which is hooked to a technologically advanced 6-speed automatic transmission. Introduced in 2010 by Acura, the ZDX is a mid sized luxury hatchback built on a front wheel drive platform, with all wheel drive available. The most advanced transmission Acura has ever produced. GotTransmissions.com has Acura ZDX Transmissions for sale for those unfortunates individuals who have had a failure.

The new Sequential SportShift 6-speed automatic redefines launch/takeoff-feel, acceleration performance and fuel efficiency. Compared to the 5-speed transmissions used with other V-6 engines in the Acura line [Vigor], the ZDX automatic transmission has lower gear ratios in first through fifth gears. The lower gear ratios add more low end acceleration and pulling power. The new sixth gear ratio is taller [higher in ratio] [more overdrive] than the top gear in Acura’s 5-speed V-6 automatic transmissions. The higher final gear allows for a glass smooth slow cruising, engine, transmission and fuel savings, rpm level.

The Sequential SportShift 6-speed transmission can be operated in two fully automatic modes with the console-mounted straight-gate shifter. The D, [Drive], mode is best suited for most driving situations. The S, [Sport], mode is for more performance oriented driving, and features more aggressive shift programs to keep engine rpm’s higher for greater acceleration and response.

It’s obvious Acura designed a transmission that suits every driving aspect of said vehicle. They wanted to successfully compete with other top line performance luxury cars by introducing a no holds barred car right off the bat.

Designing a front wheel drive car and a transmission to match said performance is not so easy. Being a front wheel drive vehicle the challenge of providing durability is the biggest obstacle. Acura met and defeated the problem head on with this new, super advanced design.

Not that the design is brand new, but the improvements to the design make it perfect for a super performance luxury car. Using the popular transverse mounting setup many other front wheel drive cars use, Acura took it to a new level with it’s Super Handling All-Wheel Drive [SH-AWD], 19-inch, 7-spoke alloy wheels.

Do we expect to sell lots of ZDX transmissions? Not yet. We choose to offer Acura ZDX transmissions for sale so we are prepared for the unspoken facts that occur. The facts are, some people will drive enough to wear out their transmission, some people will have an unfortunate incident, where the fluid leaks out very fast a damages the transmission.

We don’t wish bad luck on anybody. Our staff is prepared to answer your questions, even maintenance questions, so you won’t need our services, or questions related to transmission replacement. What ever your reason, please feel free to call anytime for any reason. GotTransmissions.com is here to help educate our customers so they make the best decisions. Call right now. 866-320-1182.

Buick Lucerne Transmissions for Sale, Affordable to Buy

If you own a Buick Lucerne and have experienced a transmission failure, than you are at the right place. the first thing we will do is discuss the available replacement transmissions for the Lucerne. Only two Buick Lucerne transmissions were offered. GotTransmissions.com stocks both Buick Lucerne transmissions or sale, affordable to buy and our best value. With transmissions and low mileage used transmissions in stock, we have you covered, right now.

It’s real easy, the Lucerne models with the V6 engines use the 4T65E automatic overdrive transmission, and the 4.6 liter Northstar powered Lucerne uses the extra heavy duty 4L80E transmission, or transaxle, because that is what it is.

A transaxle is a unit where both the transmission and differential are in the same case or housing. A compact and convenient way to produce a front wheel drive car. The most popular method of doing so, it’s called a transverse setup, where the engine and transmission are mounted sideways beneath the hood. With an axle coming out of each side of the transmission, going to the appropriate front wheel.

The 4L80E is the largest transaxle made. Designed specifically for lots of horsepower for high performance GM luxury cars made in America, expected to amply compete with some of the high dollar European luxury cars. It’s a beefy unit and is very solid from the factory, only a few updates are needed upon rebuilding said unit. The only thing I don’t like about it is there is an internal input sensor which had a tendency to fail. While the part is about 50 dollars from the dealer, the transmission has to be removed to replace it.

Note: Removing this transmission should only be attempted by professional transmission shops. It is one of the most difficult transmissions to remove and replace. Don’t be unsafe, seek professional help.

Make sure the rebuilt 4L80E transmission you buy has all new solenoids and sensors. Ours do. It sure saves a lot of frustration and inconvenience in the long run.

The 4L65E is almost identical to the previous transmission mentioned, it simply is not made for high performance usage with reliability. So, it is only used behind the lesser engines offered. It is a wonderful transmission with a fuel efficient lock up torque converter. It shifts like glass and has an excellent lifespan if maintained properly with factory synthetic transmission fluid.

When faced with making a solid decision on replacing your transmission, it only makes sense to call GotTransmissions.com. We offer the most thorough advise available, an educated consumer makes better decisions. Allow us to explain in terms you understand which one of our replacement transmissions is in your best interests. Call Right Now.
